Sree Renga Hospital is one of the DOTS (Directly Observation Treatment Short course) centre in Chengalpattu. The Central Government runs the DOTS programme to give treatment for tuberculosis. Patients with chest symptoms undergone examination by chest physician & are screened by sputum examination and chest X-ray are done for the patients. Under DOTS programme, after confirmation of TB, anti- TB drugs are given free of cost for three days a week. Sree Renga Hospital is also a specialized centre for diabetes. All the diabetic and non- diabetic with chest symptoms are screened for TB and they are educated & counseled and given treatment for tuberculosis.
